Photo Essay: Summer in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park

You guys, America is freakin' beautiful. Okay, well perhaps America is beautiful outside of the concrete jungles, sprawling suburbs, and spaghetti junctions. But I think you'd be hard-pressed to find regions of America that are more beautiful than the national parks. And with this month being the National Parks Service's 100th anniversary, it only seemed appropriate to share photos from one of my favorite national parks, Grand Teton National Park.

On a scale of 1-10, Grand Teton National Park is about a 100. It's hard to believe that it's even an American national park. It feels a bit like somewhere deep in the Canadian Rockies or Swiss Alps. It has glassy lakes, it has snow-covered craggy peaks, it has glaciers, and it has scores of wildlife. Not to mention that the Grand Tetons are located just outside of what I believe is one of the coolest mountain towns in America, Jackson, and borders another one of America's great national parks, Yellowstone National Park.

My first trip to Grand Teton National Park, as a young 17-year-old lad, is what really turned me onto traveling in America. And that love for traveling the back roads of America brought me back to the Grand Tetons twice this summer. So today I come to you with some of my favorite photos from this summer in Grand Teton National Park.
