Day Two-Hermann Hill Bed and Breakfast
Yesterday was one of those road trip days that you just can't help, but laugh at some of the things you experience. After 9 hours of driving, hilarity can often ensue. It was the longest day of the trip, but we were rewarded with an incredible sunset as we were coming into town. The town is very small and quaint and you would never find it if you weren't looking for it. The city, that's rich in German history, is manifested in Select Registry's Hermann Hill Bed and Breakfast, as it features architecture and surroundings similar of what you would probably expect in a small German village. The inn was quite a bit different in it's layout than any I've ever been too before. The inn was located right off from downtown, overlooking the city, while the other half of the inn, the cottages were located a 5-minute drive on the opposite side of town. Both places offered great views of the nearby Missouri River and town. The inn is geared more for couples who want to be near happenings at the inn itself, while the cottages are similar to family-style beach cottages where you have a little more privacy.
Day 3 is the shortest day of the trip, just over 200 miles on Route 66 and through Branson, Missouri and to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Check out the rest of our itinerary below.
